The Whiskey Burr is small all-around camp knife.  It can be stowed in a pack, pocket or worn as a convenient necker.  As can be seen, it lacks traditional handle scales.  The predrilled holes allow for the addition of handle scales if desired and also allow for the user to paracord wrap the handle as well.

Blade Length: 2
Weight:  1.6 ounce
Blade thickness:  1/16 inches
Material: Carbon Steel

OUR STEEL: A36CARB

Our knives begin as tough A36 Steel, which are forged and ground. The blade is then sent for a state of the art heat treatment, which, over a period of twelve hours, produces a deep layer of high carbon tool steel that forms an incredible cutting edge (58-59 RC) while retaining extreme core toughness (35 RC).

EDGE STYLE

The Burr has a Hollow Ground Single Bevel edge.  The grinds/bevels are asymmetrical, designed specifically to produce a thinner modified single bevel cutting tool.  The edge is micro-beveled and ceramic honed.  See sharpening suggestions below.

INCLUDED WITH SALE

Leather Grunt Sheath:  Full leather sheath, steel stapled, and hot paraffin dipped.  Predrilled holes for the addition of a neck lanyard (not included).  Hand-crafted in USA.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

This hand-crafted, high carbon steel blade has been hand-polished, and razor sharpened. It is also coated with a thin layer of paste wax for protection. As the knife ages, it will develop a beautiful patina across the finish. Keeping the blade dry and waxed will keep it in top-notch condition for years to come.

Our leather sheaths will benefit from a biannual treatment with leather conditioner.  Any variety will work well.  We offer a small tin of Saddle Soap and also Mutton Tallow for sale and each of these products work well when treating and protecting leather.

SHARPENING

This knife has a slightly asymmetrical grind profile. To maintain this type of thin edge angle, simply sharpen the stamped side (Wild-E logo side) more aggressively. Only sharpen the non-stamped side enough to remove any burrs. Any type of knife sharpening system will work just fine on this blade.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE

Reptile Toolworks offer a lifetime warranty on all Whiskey Knives.  If your knife ever fails you for any reason or if you just decide you don't like it, simply email us and we will either send you a replacement or refund your money.
